At 67, Mdm Jamilah is living proof that staying active keeps both body and heart strong. Through TOUCHpoint@Geylang Bahru, she exercises regularly, learns new skills, and volunteers to bring neighbours together.
Mdm Jamilah is enjoying her golden years by learning to play the Angklung, going for outings and picking up practical tips on healthy living. As a socially active person, Mdm Jamilah was excited when one of her neighbours invited her to join the morning exercise sessions at TOUCHpoint@Geylang Bahru, the Active Ageing Centre near her home. Fast forward to today and she is now an active advocate for active and healthy living.
“There were different kinds of activities like karaoke, bingo and craft sessions. There were also specialists from the hospital who taught us how to stay healthy. We will also join other activities organised by the centre. This way, we can meet seniors from other races and learn new things together,” shares Mdm Jamilah.

Seniors like Mdm Jamilah have shown that their golden years can be a time of discovery and renewed purpose, offering opportunities to pursue new passions and build meaningful connections.
By taking part in Race to Raise, you’re not just moving for fitness, you’re moving for seniors like Mdm Jamilah, encouraging them and helping them stay active, connected, and empowered in their golden years. Every step supports community programmes that inspire healthy living and bring people together.
Join us in the #RaceToRaise challenge and stay active together with family and friends as we strengthen both our body and bond.
