GoMAD is our annual event dedicated to raising funds to support the disadvantaged — children, families, and seniors who need a helping hand to move forward in life.

This year, 2025, marks our fourth edition, and we’re deeply grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from so many of you over the years. We hope this year’s challenge will be even more fun, meaningful, and rewarding for everyone involved.

Our goal is to raise $250,000, and we know this is possible with the support of passionate, like-minded individuals who are ready to Go Make A Difference (GoMAD) together with us!

Introduction of the GoMAD Mascots

Meet Hope and Joy — our sibling mascots for GoMAD25!

They embody the spirit of family, community, love, and care.

As we step out to Make A Difference, Hope and Joy will be by our side, reminding us why we walk, run, and ride: to bring hope and joy to disadvantaged children, families, and seniors in our community.

And yes — know that they’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

Who We Help

Making a Difference for Vulnerable and Isolated Seniors

When Auntie Yong* first joined the Jiale sessions at HOPE Centre, she kept mostly to herself. She was often tired, withdrawn, and distant — her clothes carrying the faint odour of neglect that comes from living alone and forgotten. Few knew the hardship behind her quiet demeanor.

A home visit by BCCS staff revealed the painful truth. Her flat was in a dire state — hallways blocked with clutter, furniture falling apart, ceiling leaking, and lights barely working. There was no bed to rest on, no phone line to reach out for help — only piles of expired food and silence.

It took months of patient befriending before Auntie Yong finally opened her heart to us. Bit by bit, we helped her rebuild her home and her confidence. Today, she has more well-lit space, a proper mattress to sleep on, and weekly fresh fruits and vegetables supply. Most importantly, she has rediscovered joy — attending Jiale gatherings with a smile that speaks of dignity restored and kindness received.

Every week, despite her frail frame and unsteady steps, Auntie Wong* makes her slow journey to HOPE Centre. It isn’t easy — but she never misses a session. Here, in the laughter and gentle chatter of our active-aging activities, she finds more than exercise for the mind — she finds warmth, friendship, and the comforting sense that she belongs.

Your Giving Makes Transformations Like This Possible

With your help, more seniors like Auntie Yong and Auntie Wong can step out from loneliness and live again with warmth, safety, and hope.

Give today. Your support helps keep our doors open and our programmes running for lonely seniors to
continue to find comfort, connection, and hope and dignity in their golden years.
